If Bee's Could Shower...

On August 1, the bee-maids threw me the most wonderful bridal shower! Knowing I'm not really into the traditional bridal shower themes, they organized a wine & cheese themed soiree! They arranged wine pairings, my roommate made wine charms and each guest brought a bottle of wine with a special meaning for the well wishing. It was such a great time...thank you ladies!

Here are some highlight pics:

Jack & Jill thanks to Jeremy & Jennifer

Holy J's!

Last month our friends Jeremy & Jennifer hosted an amazing Jack & Jill party for us at their home in Savannah. They won't be able to join us in CT for the wedding, but they have a VERY good reason — they're expecting their second child and are due the beginning of September! The party was a blast, we can't thank them enough for their generosity and hospitality.

Here are some pics from the festivities:

The bride and the maid of honor who made the trip down from NYC for the occasion!

Invites are Out!

It's been WAY too long since our last post. We apologize for the gap, but we had a pretty good excuse...we've been printing, folding, cutting and assembling the invitations for weeks!! Now that the invites are out the door and hopefully in your mailbox, we have some time to post again. We've received so many compliments on our invitations, we thought we'd start by sharing some with you:

  • "Rae showed me your wedding invitation. They are the best wedding invitations I have ever seen. Seriously! You're so creative, you and the Mr. :)"

  • "OMG Bridgit! ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE the wedding invitation!! How ingenious are you??""We got your invitation today. I must have spent 10 min making you to kiss it is so fun! I love them."

  • "Hey Brid, got the invitation today...soooooo creative! I love them."
  • "I just got mine!!! THEY ARE FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!! Yaaay!! You did an incredible job!!"

  • "I received your wedding invitation how different and cute!"

  • "Bridgit, love the invitation it is the coolest I've seen so far!! Love it!

  • "i LOVED your invitations!! they are soo cute...i showed it to everyone who came over this weekend :) too bad i am already married or i would have you make mine!"
Thank you to everyone for the kind words. They mean so much to us and make us feel like all the hard work was even more worth it!

PS - thanks for the pic, Carolyn!

Training for Ring Bearer Duties

By the time the wedding rolls around, Graden will be just shy of 2 years and 4 months. Some may think that's a little too young for a ring bearer—we know better. This kid has been ready to move since he was born! Before G could even walk, his legs were movin'...as you can see in this video of him in his jumper at about 7 months:

Four months later, Graden was walking like crazy, although wobbly. His new-found skill was especially entertaining when he was introduced to hardwood floors at Uncle Matt & Auntie Briddy's apartment in Savannah:

Only time will tell how the little man will do walking down the aisle. It is, after all, a VERY long aisle. We think our chances are pretty good he'll make it the whole length given the fact that his Mom & Grandpa will be at the other end. If all else fails, we'll just roll a ball down the aisle. Trust us—he'll chase it...

100 Day Milestone

The wedding is exactly 100 days from today! We can't believe how fast it's coming, although we welcome the quickness as we're so excited to become husband and wife. :) With only a hundred days left, we thought we'd give you all an update on how the planning is going:

Stay tuned & see you all in 100 days!
xoxo

The Bee-maids

Quick intro to the bridesmaids, who I like to call the "Bee-maids." Here's the buzz:

Katie Jellison: the fabulous Maid-of-Honor, Bridgit's kindred spirit, former roommate & volleyball teammate. She will bring much entertainment and style to the festivities!

We were recently asked if we are twins...ha ha

We heart Katie

Carolyn Espinoza: Bee-maid, Matt's sister and one of our favorite people that we're so lucky to also call a relative! So happy she's able to take a break from Minnesooota to be by our sides on our wedding day.

Our favorite snow bunny

The most memorable New Year's Eve ever

Raegan Horvay: Bee-maid, Bridgit's sister, mother of the ring bearer :) By day, she saves the world one child at a time—by night, she juggles a two-year-old and a puppy.

Raegan and Graden on a recent adventure

Very old pic of us... Raegan's college graduation, Bridgit's high school graduation

Lisa Horvay: Bee-maid, Bridgit's sister, Certified Massage Therapist, world traveler and surfer. I swear this is the last time I will make her play dress-up.

The 3 amigos all dolled up

Lisa in her element

Maggie Horvay: Bee-maid, Bridgit's sister-in-law, currently completing Dental Hygeine school—yay! We all smile a little brighter thanks to Maggie :)

Maggie and her boys... Bridgit's brother, Ryan and their dog, Reef

Marie Smith: Bee-maid, survived living with Matt, Bridgit, Dmitri (the best man) AND Julie (the cutest trash-picking dog there ever was) all at once! The wedding party wouldn't be complete without her.

The Venue

We've been busy setting the stage for our big day...literally! After looking into just about every possible wedding venue in the tri-state area (once Savannah was ruled out), my Mom suggested we look into The Warner Theatre. Hmm...interesting idea, Mom. It's different, which was very important to us. It's gorgeous, meaning big savings on decorating. It's indoor, so no worry about rain interfering with any plans. And the best part, it's owned by the Northwest Connecticut Association for the Arts, so our money would be going to a good cause. Let's do it!

The Warner is a stunning art deco theatre built by the Warner Bros. in 1931. It gave us goose bumps when we took a tour and we can't wait until we get to share it with you. Here are some pics:

The marquis out front...our names will be up there :)

The lobby, which will be home to cocktail hour, woo hoo!

The view from the stage. Wait until you see this place, EVERY inch is covered in detail!

The star, besides being amazingly decorative, is actually the air conditioning unit!

Can you tell we love our venue?
